7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag!

Hey Lovelies! I’m super late on this tag, but I just started seeing it on Youtube, and it looked really fun so I decided to do my own! Just in case you don’t know what a tag is, it’s a list of questions that someone made up and then “tagged” people to answer them; that’s how the tag posts and videos get started and become popular all over the internet. I wasn’t tagged, but I want to tag: Hanclarky, Fashion-Train, Effie Vanity, Spider Leg Lashes, PaintMyPretty, and anybody else who wants to do it. If you do this tag, leave a link in the comments so I can read yours too! Alright so here we go!

1.       GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
Out of my small makeup collection, my most inexpensive beauty item would be the e.l.f. shine eraser oil blotting sheets. I haven’t used them yet, but they are extremely cheap! I will definitely be using them during the hotter months. My most expensive product would have to be my Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Foundation, which was about $30. I love this foundation for the fall/winter time when I become paler. It also covers up a lot of my acne scars by itself without any concealer, which I like when I’m in a rush. The only problem I have with this foundation is that it dries out the space between my eyebrows so you can tell I have foundation now; I don’t like that look.

2.       WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
Hmmm…this was a tough question, but the beauty product I have a love/hate relationship with is any of my foundations or BB creams. For one, it’s hard finding my color, especially since my color drastically changes from the summer time to the holiday months, so I get annoyed having to buy different shades for each season. But other than that, I don’t mind foundation, but I would rather wear my natural skin out instead.

3.       GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
I am a huge fan of chocolate and sweet smelling items so when my family and I had to went to the Hershey’s Chocolate Factory a few months ago, I got to pick up the Milk Chocolate Favored Lip Balm. It’s extremely favored! It tastes and smells like chocolate <3. I also love the Lip Smackers Chapstick in Candy Cane because it’s peppermint smell and how moisturizing it is.

4.       SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
When I’m in a time cramp, I usually skip mascara because I have naturally long eyelashes so I can do without lengthening them any more. I like wearing eyeliner by itself because I have hooded eyes so you can’t really see the eyeshadow, only the eyeliner.

5.       PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
I feel naked without eyeliner so that would be my beauty product that gives me the most confidence. Personally, I think that my eyes are the biggest attention grabber on my face so eyeliner allows me to bring more emphasis to them.

6.       LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I’m a sucker for tall guys, like 6 feet and taller! (even though I’m on the short side) But I mainly want a guy with a funny personality, soulful eyes, and someone who is my best friend. If you’re my best friend, you’ve already gotten used to my jokes and personality traits and vice versa so there won’t be any huge surprises.

7.       ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
I would love to receive the Naked palette because I love the colors, but I can’t justify the price tag on it! But besides that, I would love to receive any new products or products I wouldn’t normally buy for myself. Those are the best gifts because it takes you out of your comfort zone and you’re able to try something new.

That’s it for the Tag questions and answers! If you want to see more tags or posts like this, let me know because I had fun doing this (:

Manicure Monday || Crisscross Applesauce Nail Design

Sorry for this late post, but I was sick yesterday and wasn't up to posting. But it's here now!
With nail designs, you just have to let your creativity run wild and soar into the sky. (hey I sounded pretty poetic for a minute ahahaha) But that's what I did here. I kept adding details as I saw fit
because my design didn't seem finished.

For this design, I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Limestone as the base and L.A. Colors Art Deco: Nail Art Lacquer in White to add the stripes. It was my first time using the L.A. Colors Nail art so that's why my stripes aren't as thing or neat as I had wished; I need to keep my hands more steady next time! But I still really liked the way my design came out and you guys get the picture. Then finally, I added Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Diamonds as my top coat to add some sparkly into my life.

I hope you enjoyed my Manicure Monday this week and will hopefully do the design for your next manicure. Let me know in the comments what do you think of Manicure Monday and if you like them. Also bare with me as I will be getting better at doing my nails with time and practice!

Closet Wishlist #1

There are many pieces that I've been loving this past year, but I haven't actually bought them yet. As you can tell, I can't wait for summer to start in 2014, which will be the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

Cat Ear Bowler Hat- Amazon
Pizza Infinity Tank Top- CustomizedGirl
Tribal Swimsuit- EverythingButWater top/ bottom
Floral Combat Boots- Lulu's
White Dress- Love Culture

While living abroad, I noticed the bowler hat a lot, but I couldn't see myself wearing it. That's why I'm glad some designer added cat ears to it, which is so beyond cute! I love interesting pieces in my wardrobe; Tribal, florals, and infinity signs are big trends for the summer time. The white dress would be perfect to wear under my graduation gown. The bow and mesh details on it are just lovely and sophisticated enough for the occasion.

What do you think of this wishlist? What's on yours?

My Head Shaving Experience

I’ve had my head shaved for about three months now so I figured that was enough time to adjust to the new hairdo and get my thoughts straighten out.  For my senior project at school, I decided to host a Locks of Love hair drive. I told my school that if I got 25 people to donate the minimum length of 8 inches, that I would shave my own head and donate my hair to people who can’t grow their own. Obviously, I did get enough people to cut their hair at my event because I currently have short hair.

Why Did I Shave My Head?

During my 8th grade year, I had the idea of shaving my head and donating it to Locks of Love, mainly because I didn’t like my hair at the time, and I wanted to give it to someone who would appreciate it more than I did. Back then though, I didn’t have the guts to actually do it, especially going into my freshmen year of high school, but that doesn’t mean the idea didn’t stick with me. Then I moved to another country part way into my senior year, and I wanted to make a statement/ difference at my new school. Hence, the idea of hosting a Locks of Love hair drive and getting people to take the plunge of shorter hair with me. I have always been defined by my hair, from comments on it or the texture of it, but that wasn’t the only thing I wanted people to see about me. That’s when I realized that hair doesn’t define who I am. I’m still going to be the same girl who loves to dance hip hop and read books back to back, with or without hair. I wanted to spread that message I learned around my school and into my community. It was also a dare to myself to prove that I was brave enough to shave my head, especially since it’s rare for girls to do that.

What Were People’s Reactions?
My family and friends full supported me throughout the whole experience and helped me plan the event. Afterwards my haircut, I got a lot of amazing feedback from my teachers and random people who came up to me specifically to tell me that they loved my hair and the cause that I was supporting. I even had a guy, who was with a group of his buddies, come up to me in the cafeteria and very loudly tell me, “You look beautiful with your new hair! I have mad respect for you for shaving your head.” Of course, I got a lot of attention and looks because people wanted to see it. I guess to know that it really did happened and it wasn’t a practical joke. Outside of school, I was a bit scared to see how people would react to me because I didn’t want people to think I was a lesbian or that I was an actual sick person. But for the most part, I got the same reactions as I did at school, which was good feedback. Sometimes, I did notice that people stepped around me carefully so hopefully they didn’t think I actually had a hair losing disease. Even people from my old school in Germany that I have never talked to told my boyfriend how much they loved my new hairdo and how brave I was to do something like that so I thought that was pretty awesome that I had an influence in two parts of the world.

My Feelings on My Hair Now
I’m not going to lie and say that I don’t miss my long hair because occasionally I do, but at the same time, I think of how much I helped the Locks of Love organization and people who can’t grow their own hair. Now, I absolutely love my short hair! I feel braver, stronger, smarter, more feminine, sexier, and more adventurous than I ever have with long hair. Plus in the mornings, I barely have to do anything with my hair besides using a brush and adding some oil and leave-in conditioner. To be honest, I think that shaving my head boosted my self-esteem to such higher levels because of the fact that I was able to do something I believed in, even though it’s unconventional. If you have the guts or even an inkling that you would want to shave your head or go shorter, then do it! What do you have to lose? It’s going to grow back anyways so why not have fun with your hair or give it to someone who actually needs it.

Thank you guys for reading! I hope that I answered most of the big questions in this post and have inspired you to do something daring in 2014 for yourself! Remember you only live once so make the most of it!

Book Reviews || Pandemonium & Requiem By Lauren Oliver

Pandemonium
I warned you about the sequel to Delirium; there is never enough of this series! Pandemonium follows the life of Lena in her new home, the Wilds, and how she gets involved with the "growing resistance movement". There are new loves and the old ones get buried away with Lena's past. There is "no before" when living in the Wilds; it's about here, now, and what the future holds.

I won't say anymore so there aren't any spoilers in this post. But I will say that if you love action-pack books with a prohibited plot, then you should check this series out!

Requiem
Requiem is the final book in the Delirium Trilogy, and it ended not how I expected at all. Lena and the other Invalids face many battles and hardships throughout the book, but near the end, it all starts to mean something. Their spirit and fight lead to more resisters and citizens are rioting back too. I wish the book continued on so we could see the end result of all of the madness, whether love truly conquered all. But if I had to guess, I think it did. A lesson I learned from this book is that nothing is ever truly lost until you completely give up on it.

Don't mind my ratchet nails....pshhh

I did really like this trilogy, and hopefully if you read it, you'll enjoy the series as well. Let me know in the comments below whether or not you liked the books or if you have read any good books lately.

New Hair!

"Life is to short to be boring"~Makaela

A Diva is A Female Hustler

February 19, 14- Ok let me tell you...the whole day that I wore this outfit I felt like Ciara or Rihanna with "Diva" by Beyoncé as my background music. I don't know what it was about that day, but I felt very urban and punk.

The shirt that I'm wearing was a part of my Valentine's Day gift from my boyfriend (He knows me so well!), and I believe from the brand that it's from Primark. Then to add to the overall theme of the shirt, I paired it with a gold chain from H&M and my Lugs. Timberlands and Lugs are my favorite shoes, especially at the moment, because you can pair them with anything and they will look good together!

What's your opinion on Timberland like shoes? Yes or nah?

OurWorld Boutique: J. Crew Inspired Necklace Review

At the end of 2013, I kept seeing this flower necklace by J.Crew all over my Instagram and on Youtube. It was such a pretty piece that I had to get my hands on it, but with the hefty price tag (retail: $128) hmmm...I had to find a dope instead! That's the reason why I stumbled onto OurWorld Boutique's website. OurWorld Boutique is an online store, located in Utah, that sells merchandise from all over the world! The best part of this store is that the prices are very affordable without robbing the buyer of quality.

I bought two necklaces from them called the 3 Flower Pearl Necklace ($7.99), which is similar to the J. Crew necklace I was obsessed with. They also have one with seven flowers ($12.99) for an exact replica of the brand name necklace. The one shown in the pictures is in Mint, and I gave my mom the green one for a Christmas present. The shipping was quick; I believe I got my package in about five days to a week after I had ordered. In my package, each necklace was in its own individual plastic sleeve and the company gives you a mint chocolate piece, like the kind in hotels, and a little note to win free pieces.

Words can't describe how much I love this necklace, especially the color of it. I would definitely recommend this necklace and boutique!

What are your thoughts? Have you been looking for this necklace too?

5 Trends To Be Daring in 2014 (Spring Edition)

Here are five trends to try as spring starts to take over 2014! I picked out these five trends that I'm personally looking forward to this year! If you have outfits posts using one of these trends, leave a link in the comments so I can check them out (: I love seeing what other people wear.

1.) Overalls- They are just so different and something I wouldn't normally wear, but I'm loving the look of them recently! Overalls help let out your inner child for spring time.

2.) Origami Skorts-I've been dying to get my hands on one of these skorts! They give you the look of a skirt, but the comfort of shorts. What more could you ask for?

3.) Statement Sweatshirts- These are so good for those lazy days where you want to be comfy, but cute at the same time.

4.) Crop Tops- The short tops are here to stay for a minute! If you're not comfortable about showing skin, there are plenty of ways to cover up while wearing these tops. So take a fashion chance this year!

5.) Midi Skirts- I love the look of longer skirts. But you need a good pair of heels or shoes to make them work, if you're on the shorter side like me!

What trend do you enjoy? Which trends are you looking forward to in Spring 2014?
