DIY | | Centerpiece Using A Pot

So for today, I have a DIY for you all because I had to do a project for my fashion class, and there was nothing really out there on the internet on how to do the task my teacher assigned. The assignment was to make a centerpiece for a dinner table out of a pot. But don’t worry, I’m here to help with that now.

How to:
Step 1- Paint over any imperfections you don’t want or put a base coat on your pot if your pot is a darker color. Then let the paint dry. My teacher gave us little pots from the dollar store that had a design on it so the first step for me was to paint over the design in white.
Step 2- Paint your pot any color that your little heart desires. Let dry before adding extra layers of paint. I used a dark blue color and ended up putting three layers to get to the darkness I wanted. I was in a rush to paint the pot blue and kind of mixed the two colors over the design because I was rushing. No worries! I was able to darken the overall color to fix the mistake; now you can’t see it!

Step 3- Paint on any designs or put any decorations to your pot. Drying time is the same from step 2 For mine, I freehanded a tribal print and the words “Hakuna Matata” on the rim. Egypt is my favorite country, which is in Africa, and my favorite movie is the Lion King, which is where the saying is from, so that is where my inspiration came from.

Step 4- Cut your foam piece to the correct size of your pot. Then push the foam as far as it’ll go into your pot so you don’t see the green when you are looking at your masterpiece straight on.

Step 5- Cut the fake flowers to the desired length and push them into the foam piece. Be careful with this part because the foam I had crumbled and was easily broken when I wasn’t being careful.
Step 6- Now you’re finished! Here’s my finished project. I am using my creation as a grade for school and will be using it as decoration in my room to add some color and sunshine to my space.

If you do this project or something similar, please leave a link in the comments so I can see your creation! Have fun with this project lovelies!

Don't Judge lol. I was feeling myself today (:
You know those random days when everything goes the way you want it to, which makes you extremely happy all day? We all truly appreciate them when they happen, and today was my day! First off, I passed my one of two final exams for my pharmacy technician program; I was so nervous that I had messed up that my hands were shaking the whole time! The second wonderful thing that happened to me today was that I finally got a job, after like three months of searching.
For those who follow my blog, you probably have noticed that I usually only wear foundation and some blush on an everyday basis, but today I changed up my look. I wore Covergirl Blast Flipstick in Perky for a pop of color and simple brown eyeliner. This lipstick is quite interesting so I might have to test it out some more before doing a full review on it. If you've tried this product, let me know in the comments what you think about it! Hopefully, your day was just as good!

Mixed Print

Sorry everyone for not posting in awhile...I have been doing quite a bit of studying as well as having some visitors from the last place I lived, which was really amazing and exciting.

I wore this outfit back in March, before I went red, but I still wanted to show you the look. I believe these are the last photos from before my hair was dye so bare with me. For today's look, I decided to try something a little different by mixing prints. The red in both the plaid shirt and the baby-doll top ties the look together to create an interesting combination.

Haul & Review || Missguided US

Guess what lovelies? I have another haul for you all! (I’ve always liked the way that sounded ahaha.) I’ve seen this store on a bunch of Youtube and blog hauls so I decided to take a peek at the store myself. I have to say I love all of the pieces on this site and wish I had the money to buy everything on it! Missguided is a UK based online store that sells apparel, shoes, and accessories; I bought from their US site.

But this haul comes with a story…so first off, I ordered from them, and that week the east coast in America got hit with a bunch of snow and ice storms so I figured my package got delayed in the  process. But to be on the safe side, I emailed Missguided’s customer service who reassured me that my package was on its merry way. Three weeks later, my package hadn’t come during the time frame they told me so I ended up just canceling my order and trying to get a refund. I am the only one who could do this because after I sent the email, my package came in the next day and the sizing fit perfectly! So I had to re-email the company letting them know I got it. But overall, their customer service was amazing and answered all my questions as quickly as possible, which I was very thankful for since there was a time difference. Now on to the actual clothing pieces I got.

I got this bright coral maxi skirt, a white crop top, and disco leggings. For a few years now, I’ve been wanting a maxi skirt, but they are always too long for me. This one from Missguided is a good length; I can pull it all the way up to make it look like a dress or fold it down to make it into a maxi skirt, which I love that I can pick and choose. The slit on the side is also a cute detail. I’ve been needing a basic crop top to go with this maxi skirt and my high-waisted jeans so I picked this one up, which is really comfortable. The disco leggings is the actual reason I decided to order because I’ve been obsessed with the disco pants from American Apparel, but I didn’t have the cash to fork out for them so I thought this would be a cheaper alternative.  All of the pieces are not completely see through, but you do have to be aware of what you wear underneath them because bold prints will show through them. I can’t wait to wear my new pieces as the weather starts to warm up!

If you’ve never ordered from a UK site, then make sure to go up a few sizes when you’re ordering. I happen to know this little tip because I’ve bought clothing from the UK when I lived in Europe. Their sizing is much smaller than ours, like I usually wear a size 6/7 in pants, but I order a US size 10 (UK size 14), which fits perfectly for my body. Just something to be aware of!

If you’ve ordered from this company, what are your thoughts?
What’s your favorite piece out of my haul?
